5*
The Giants will see a lot of New England's no-huddle attack. Brady runs this style of offense extremely well and with 2 weeks to prepare will pick them apart with short passes which will then open up the deep game and running game. By doing so, the defense can't substitute personnel. If Brady finds a weakness -- which is very easy to do with the offensive personnel he has at his disposal -- he can consistently find favorable matchups. Brady is a master at controlling the flow of the game. The Giants defense has allowed 5.4 yards per carry in the NFC Championship Game.
The Patriots controlled the line of scrimmage for most of the day against the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game, and it was the reliable BenJarvus Green-Ellis who reaped the benefits. Green-Ellis gets what is blocked, plus a little more, but he isn't a big-play threat. Green-Ellis' powerful running style and ball security could be very valuable in this matchup. New England will utilize a multitude of ball carriers, though, including Danny Woodhead, who is as much a slot receiver as he is running back.
I like Green-Ellis’ touchdown chances in the Super Bowl because of his success against a very good run defense in the Baltimore Ravens. In the AFC championship game he rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown on just 15 carries. The Patriots’ passing game opens up holes for the running game, especially in the red zone. Also, Green-Ellis has score four touchdowns in his last five games.
The Patriots also have recently added a new wrinkle to their running game by handing the ball to Hernandez. The beauty of this tactic is that they don't have a running back on the field in these instances, so based just on personnel, the defense is not expecting run.
Both Green Bay and San Francisco self-destructed in their losses to the Giants and I do not think the Patriots will give them any similar favors. With 2 weeks to prepare, I simply think Brady & Belichick will have the answers and bring home the Super Bowl trophy to Robert KRaft and his late wife that was very close to many players on this team.
I like the NE Patriots 34-23
A few prop plays I like and which are to be played small and have fun with are:
UNDER 3.5 FG's in the game.
More points scored in the 2nd half than the 1st half.
First player to score a TD will have a jersey # higher than 80.5
Will BenJarvus Green-Ellis score a touchdown: YES

The Spartans should be motivated by a 1-point loss versus Illinois last game out, and further fueled by a 1-point loss at Michigan in the season's first meeting, expect the Spartans to bounce back strong Sunday afternoon. Michigan St has the much better rebounding edge in this game and coming off a very poor shooting game.
The Spartans are 13-0 inside the Breslin Center this season, winning those games by an amazing 22.6 points on average. Home has also been good to them in this series. Since 1998 ten of those wins have come by at least 11 points between these two.
Michigan has not been the same team on the road. It is 1-5 in true road games with those 5 losses coming by an average of 9.4 points. Lets play Michigan ST to pull away in the 2nd half here on Sunday.

After all the waiting, the NFL sadly will be ending, yet excitedly boils down to this, the big game. Has Eli Manning finally done enough to be considered an “elite quarterback?” |
|
Jan 26, 2012 |
Firstly, I will start with the fact that I think the term elite is thrown around way too much. Like similar terms like icon, or legend, these are words that are very powerful words and should never be taken carelessly when describing someone or something.
But, I will also say, times change much more frequently in today’s sports than they ever have, and I dejectedly imagine they will o ...

Weekly NFL POWER B-L-I-T-Z |

Oct 5, 2011 |
Game of the week
Lions (4-0) vs Cowboys (2-2); The Lions beat the Cowboys, 34-30. The Lions have been more than showing they are a team to be taken very seriously. Putting something pretty special together early in the season. I, who was once unsure of the hype, am buying in on the Lions, they are legit. Turning a 24 point deficit from the 2nd quarter, roaring back to win the game 34-30 o ...

Have we really seen the last of Randy Moss?
|
|
Aug 25, 2011 |
There is no question of the skills of a player of Randy Moss’s caliber. He played for 13 years, made loads of amazing catches, out leaping, out running, out jostling CBs, and safeties all over the NFL.
One of the major issues the troubled wide receiver apparently had was his desire. He never seemed to play with the fire and take 100% full advantage of his skills, he just “let it happen.” M ...

| Tony Karpinski Money Management |
| Only 2 to 3% of the people who wager on sports are actual long term winners. For the most part it's not because the losers are bad handicappers, or using poor handicapping sources. It's because they have no concept of what a bankroll is, any respect for it, or how to use it.
There are 3 components to successful sports investing:
(1) Handicapping the games proficiently using historically proven methods.
(2) "Shopping for Lines" to get the best value(Extremely Important).
(3) Employing a disciplined money management system and NOT risking your entire bankroll on a game or in a week.
*** One of the toughest things to do in life is to follow instructions. Everyone looks for a shortcut. But if you are able to achieve the patience and discipline to follow these rules you will be more financially successful than you ever imagined.
# 1 - Define your bankroll. This is a sum which, if you were to lose the entire amount, would not alter your current chosen lifestyle. Use a separate bankroll for each sport (for example, College & NBA Basketball use separate bankrolls.) Don't be embarrassed if this amount is small. with discipline it will grow large!
# 2 - Wager a constant predetermined percentage of your bankroll on each game in the handicapping period. For example, I have regular picks for 1 unit and TOP picks for 2 units.
#3 - Never wager more than 8 games in a day or at a given time. I sometimes have 2 reports on weekends during the football season and actually break it down and look at it as 2 days.
These are basic guidelines.
-------------------------
There you have it.
By having the discipline to follow these directions you'll find yourself multiplying your wealth in winning seasons and saving losses in tough times. My only advice is to shop for the best numbers. What you save is what you earn. As always Good Luck and BE A WINNER! |
